10.27.19 ~ Ephesians 4:25, Speaking the Truth
See Ephesians 4:11-25.
As a Christian, you are to be a witness for
Jesus Christ, so others might be saved.
“Christianity is either relevant all the time or useless anytime. It is not just a phase of life; it is life itself.” – Richard Halverson
We are to speak truth to all people, but especially to fellow believers (Galatians 6:10), ”So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.”
The native language of God is truth; the native language of Satan is lies (see John 8:42-47).
John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”
John 14:16-17, “I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you.”
John 17:17, “Sanctify them in the truth; Your word is truth.”
God is the God of Truth, Jesus is the Truth.
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, and He lives in every Christian.
The Word of God [the Bible] is the Truth, and we are set apart by the Truth.
Jesus’ most common statement to those who followed Him was, “I tell you the truth.”
“The best way to show that a stick is crooked is not to argue about it or spend time denouncing it, but to lay a straight stick alongside it.”-D.L. Moody
“Of all the work done under the sun, religious work should be the most open to examination. There is positively no place in the church for sleight of hand or double talk. Everything done by the churches should be completely above suspicion. The true church will have nothing to hide.” – A.W. Tozer
We are to speak that which is helpful for building others up, according to their needs.
Colossians 3:17, “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through Him to God the Father.”
Colossians 3:23-24 “Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.”
Jesus is the Truth; everything He said and did is Truth. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Truth, guiding and empowering every Christian. The Word of God is the Word of Truth, setting us apart.
If you are a Christian, you are a new creation and you will speak the truth!
