Isaiah 7:14, “Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, a virgin will be with child and bear a son, and she will call His name Immanuel,” (cf.Matthew 1:18-23).
Micah 5:2, “But as for you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you One will go forth for Me to be ruler in Israel. His goings forth are from long ago,
From the days of eternity,” (cf. Luke 2:4-10).
Galatians 4:4-5, “when the time had fully come, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under law, to redeem those under law, that we might receive the full rights of sons.”
See Luke 2:1-7. All Jews returned to the town of their ancestors: Joseph (Solomon, Matthew 1:1-16), Mary (Nathan, Luke 3:23-38) the line of David.
See Luke 2:8-18. If there were shepherds out in the fields near Bethlehem, keeping watch over their flocks at night, it was not December. Whenever it occurred, an angel told them, “in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; He is Christ the Lord.
The One being born in Bethlehem brought God’s peace to everyone who would believe in God’s Son!
Mark 1:10-11 says, at Jesus’ baptism, heaven opened, the Spirit descended, and a voice said, “You are My beloved Son, in You I am well-pleased.”
Matthew 17:5 says, This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased; listen to Him!”
See Luke 2:15-16. The angels went back into heaven, the shepherds went to find the baby, after which (2:17-18) they declared to all, the Savior had come.
See Luke 2:19. “Mary treasured all these things, pondering them in her heart.”
See Luke 2:20. The shepherds returned to their flocks, praising God for all they had seen. g
The first time Jesus came: There was no room for Him to be born. The next time, He will be the landlord.
The first time Jesus came: Only a few shepherds saw Him. The next time, everyone will see Him..
The first time Jesus came: He came as a baby boy. The next time, as the KING of Kings and LORD of Lords.
The first time Jesus came: Only a few Magi brought Him gifts. The next time, He brings gifts to all those who believe in Him.
What is the center of your Christmas celebration?
2Corinthians 9:15, “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!
Jesus Christ is the Savior who came to earth in the flesh of a baby; He grew up in obscurity, and in His early 30’s was put to death on a cross, because He claimed to be God; He was then placed in a tomb, but on the third day after His death, eye witnesses said He came out of the grave alive (just like He had said that He would), victorious over sin, death and judgement, forever!
Christmas is about Jesus, because Christmas is Jesus. Christmas is a celebration that is to honor and glorify God’s Son, the Holy Messenger and Savior from God, who has come.
Jesus is the Reason for the Season, and He is the only genuine hope that we have now, and forever!
Merry Christmas to all on whom God’s Favor rests, for you have God’s Peace and you are able to know God’s Pleasure now and forever, through Christ the Lord!
Merry Christmas!
