10.20.19 ~ Ephesians 4:20-24,
Off with the Old, On with the New
Paul declares that when someone comes to Christ, he/
she becomes a new person with a desire and propensity
to know and obey God’s Word, to live in a manner that
pleases God (cf. 2Corinthians 5:17).
See Matthew 7:7-8, 13-14
The small gate leads to eternal life; the wide gate
leads to eternal death..
Apart from repentance, no one is saved.
Romans 3:23-24…
Romans 6:23…
Romans 5:8…
Romans 10:9-10, 13…
Salvation is granted to those who come to Christ as
Savior, by faith, repenting of their sins.
Mark 1:15, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God
is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.” 17, “And
Jesus said to them, ‘Follow Me, and I will make you
become fishers of men.’”
Paul reminds us (Ephesians 2:1-3) that every
Christian was an unbeliever cruising down the broad road.
Paul exhorts us, to put off the old, and put on the new.
See Romans 12:2; 13:14
Those belonging to God have God’s Spirit in them.
See John 3:3-8; 14:15-17, 25-26; 1Corinthians
6:19-20; Ephesians 1:13-14.
Those who belong to Christ are to walk and talk
differently than than those who do not (John 10:9),“I am
the door; if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved.”
John 11:25-26, “I am the resurrection and the life; he
who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone
who lives and believes in Me will never die.”
You cannot become unsaved, but you can live like an
unbeliever. Let’s talk about sewage soaked clothing!
Christ cleanses you of all the sewage of your life.
2Corinthians 5:21, “He made Him who knew no sin to
be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the
righteousness of God in Him.”
John 5:24, “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My
word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and
does not come into judgment, but has passed out of
death into life.”
1John 1:8-9, “ If we say that we have no sin, we are
deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we
confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us
our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
Psalm 103:12, “As far as the east is from the west, so
far has He removed our transgressions from us.”
Isaiah 43:25, ““I, even I, am the one who wipes out
your transgressions for My own sake, and I will not
remember your sins.”
Hebrews 10:17, “Their sins and their lawless deeds I
will remember no more.”
Everyone is born traveling on the broad road to hell;
when you trust God’s Son to forgive your sins, you enter
the small gate that leads to heaven.
Jesus Christ (John 14:6), is the only Way to God, the
only Truth of God, and the only Life from God.
