Jesus In A Pandemic Age
 

Matthew 8:1-4 (NASB)
1 When Jesus came down from the mountain, large crowds followed Him.
2 And a leper came to Him and bowed down before Him, and said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”
3 Jesus stretched out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4 And Jesus said to him, “See that you tell no one; but go, show yourself to the priest and present the offering that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

 

V.l – “When he (Jesus) came down from the mountainside, large crowds followed him.”

– What is a pandemic?
– When did this healing occur during Jesus’ ministry?
– Jesus’ pandemic?
– Leprosy

– How was it viewed by Jesus?
– Was there a cure?
– How were the victims treated?

V.2 – “A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, ‘Lord, if you are willing,
you can make me clean.’ ”

– Why did the Leper come to Jesus?
– How did the Leper react to Jesus?
– What did the Leper request?
– Who did the Leper think Jesus was?
– What was the Leper’s condition?
– How did the Leper come to Jesus?
– What beatitudes did the Leper fulfill?
– What excuses did the Leper have to prevent him from coming to Jesus?

V.3a – “Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man.,”

– Why did Jesus do this?
– What was the reaction of the people around Jesus?

V.3b – “I am willing, be clean.”

– Did Jesus have the power to heal the Leper?
– Why?

V.3c – “Immediately he was cured of his leprosy.”

– How long did it take for the Leper to be healed?
– To what extent was the Leper healed?

V.4 – “See that you don’t tell anyone. But go, show yourself to the priest and offer the gift
Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

– Why did Jesus command this?
– Why did the Leper have to testify, to the priests?
– What was his testimony?
